A friend of mine did the look-and-feel of the site while I did the Flash development. The client wants animation for their website but html5 wasn’t big (or not yet used) around 2009.

Charter Change Rally 2008 Photos

This is my first photo album I uploaded using the Panasonic Lumix LX3…very capable camera with a fast (2.0) Leica lens.

Shots are from the 2008 Charter Change Rally in Ayala Avenue, Makati City. All shots are handheld (some even over the head) without using any tripod. Not bragging about the shots but the camera’s ability to shoot at night without using the camera’s flash.

Gumbo Mall of Asia

We went to this restaurant before and became a fan of their Pepperoni Pizza and Pasta Marinara…cheap food and great ambiance, US-sized food serving. Ironically we just don’t like their Gumbo and Jambalaya.

I’m using a Canon 300d dslr with a 50mm 1.8 prime lens…Vivitar flash.

A poem I wrote to highlight the difference between Jesus and false religion. In the scriptures Jesus received the most opposition from the most religious people of his day. At it’s core Jesus’ gospel and the good news of the Cross is in pure opposition to self-righteousness/self-justification. Religion is man centered, Jesus is God-centered. This poem highlights my journey to discover this truth. Religion either ends in pride or despair. Pride because you make a list and can do it and act better than everyone, or despair because you can’t do your own list of rules and feel “not good enough” for God. With Jesus though you have humble confident joy because He represents you, you don’t represent yourself and His sacrifice is perfect putting us in perfect standing with God!

Yup you read it right, Halloween 2008, i’m just deleting some images from my Facebook to this website for some reason. Anyway, me and my wife (when we’re still not married) together with her friends love to go to clubs around Manila. Warehouse 135 offers genuine house music, any type of house music, they even have a Sunday afternoon gig every first (or last) Sunday of the month featuring Gospel House with Christian DJ Benjie Lopez. I love it when Toti D’s Groovenation spins unadulterated House music (no progressive house or trance, just the classic 4/4 house). Well unfortunately Manila loves pop and hiphop and you might know what happened next. Here are some of my wife’s Canon Ixus 70 shots from our Black Holloween Party last 2008 at Warehouse 135 with our friends.

The Nature of Zen

A great Zen Master called Tozan once wrote:

“The Blue Mountain is the father of the White Cloud,
the White Cloud is the son of the Blue Mountain.
All day long they depend on each other,
without being dependent on each other.
The White Cloud is always the White Cloud,
the Blue Mountain is always the Blue Mountain.

This was Tozan’s interpretation of life,
that each of us, like the White Cloud
exists dependently, yet independent.

When conditions change,
the cloud changes and it just keeps going
leaving no trace no past.
This is the Zen way,
without effort, without intention.
If there is a sound, we hear.
If our eyes were open , we see.
There is nothing more than this.

When we see our self as the White Cloud,
when we come to this realization of ourselves,
it will be enough, and there is no confusion.
To awaken to this realization is the practice of Zen.

Like a stream flowing down the mountain
that finds it’s own path.
Living with nature is finding your own way.
This is the way of the Dao,
and it is found in Zen.
If we try to block the stream, or resist it,
it will simply go around, without a pause,
it will find its own way.
This way is like a falling leaf, moving along a stream.
If you allow the stream to carry you,
it’s strength become yours,
you are one with nature.
Without clinging, without attachment,
leaving the past behind, living in this moment.

When you look at the forest,
do not look at the trees as separate or a part, but as one.
This is the forest.
Likewise do not differentiate yourself as a part from others
or from the world outside.
The search for self-realization is powered by our anxieties and our fears,
which feed by our ego causing frustration with our daily life.
Selfishness, jealousy, angered, hate
which unconsciously serve to protect us,
and in doing so set us in opposition to everyone and everything.
To awaken to this realization is the practice of Zen.

3rd Sunday Love Affair

Our 3rd Sunday shoot with the Sunday Love Affair group was made in the shores of Manila Bay again inside Baseco compound in Tondo, Manila…this final installment was all captured through my Ukrainian rangefinder camera “Fed 3 Type b,” which are inspired by the classic Leica rangefinders.

Purchased this camera from eBay through my (now, wedding) ninong T…though shots have some light leaks on the right side of the frame, most of the pictures here looks good and used two of them for the exhibit. The camera is now with my another (new, wedding) ninong, S.
